Short overview of coaching philosophy:
“My coaching philosophy is:
I believe that playing sports and having something to focus on outside of school/home is important for personal growth and mental health. Building long lasting friendships, bonds, building character, learning perseverance and personal worth are just a few of the important aspects of being an athlete. I love being a small part of that bridge to help children build their confidence. My job is to make these children fall in love with their sport, but also to feel a sense of comfort and belonging. Being a part of a team prepares children for life, teaching them about working as a team player, not just as an individual. I truly believe that playing sports helps build all around character, morals and integrity.”
Coach Wendy and her family is a military family and have have moved all over the US. They have just settled in the Tampa area after her husband served 20 in the Air Force. Her family loves all sports! She grew up in a sports family where all of her siblings were athletes. Her husband played football for the Air Force Academy and basketball in high school. She played soccer for 10 years, ran track in high school and played beach volleyball for her church youth group and for fun. She has 4 children and they are all multi-sport athletes.
